I am gearing up to leave America. I leave Minnesota the 25th of June. After a brief stop in New York at the AIM headquarters I leave for Kenya! I will be spending approximately the next three weeks at Africa Based Orientation (ABO) in Machakos, Kenya. This will hopefully be fun. I am hoping to learn a lot.
Going back to Kenya as an 'adult' as opposed to a student is a little different. I am anticipating many awkward moments with the staff that are still there from when I was a student. "Hello, Mr. Kinzer.... er... Mark... er... sir..." I am anticipating those kinds of conversations. Like my friends mom, is she still Aunt Jana or just Jana? Oh well, I will get through it with God's grace.
Well, this is my first blog here and I hope to update it regularly. If you see that I haven't written an update in a while, let me know via email and I will be sure to do that. I am hoping to write in this at least on a once every 2-3 weeks basis, hopefully more.
I want to end each blog with some verses that I am currently reading or find particularly inspiring as well as prayer requests so you will know how to pray for me best. Please feel free to leave prayer requests in a comment if you have them!

1. That my upcoming travel overseas would go smoothly.
2. That peace would prevail in Kenya
3. I would enjoy my time and learn a lot at ABO
4. Have a great relaxing time with family and friends in my final 2 weeks here in Minnesota
