Last Day of 1st World

Today is my last day in America. I want to try and describe the feelings that are zooming though me right now and it is pretty hard to pinpoint my emotions. I think right now I am feeling hopeful for the future and what will happen. I am very excited to start this next chapter in my life. I am a little bit of everything: anxious, nervous, excited, sad to leave friends. It is another transition coming up!

A few quick random facts about my flights tomorrow in case you want to pray for their safety (wink wink):
-First flight leaves at 6:30 PM from Newark Liberty Airport and goes to London Heathrow
-Second flight leaves at 10:30 AM (London time) from London Heathrow for Nairobi
-I am sitting in seat 28K both flights (window seat!)
-I am getting up early sunday morning (in Kenya) to go see the Rift Valley Academy choir sing. (Yikes, jetlag)

I want to write more but I am EXHAUSTED! Today, I am at the headquarters for Africa Inland Mission in New York. We had long meetings all morning and afternoon tying up all the loose ends before we go. I am pretty sure I will forget most things that were said to me. Good thing they all had hand outs to give! My carry-ons are going to be HUGE! :)

I will leave with some scripture:

(I know this one is cliche and used a lot but it is so appropriate. I also don't have my Bible on me right now so you will be getting the Ryan Dahlman version.)
Jeremiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Ok- so I felt guilty for not knowing it off the top of my head so I went to Bible Gateway to get the correct wordage.

Prayer Requests-
1. Safety in Travel
2. Safety for all my baggage to get through to Kenya safely and in one piece
3. For the ability to shake of jetlag on Sunday Morning to go see the RVA choir
4. For my parents house in Grand Marais, MN. They need a renter in there in order to pay my college bills! :)

Thanks again for reading and praying friends!

RYAN

A special note for Bjorn Larson- Putting Settler's of Catan in my carry-on has all ready paid off. I played here at AIM Headquarters all ready! I won (barely) with sheep as my biggest commodity. I had cities on the 3 possible corners of the tile with a sheep port. Man, when an 8 was rolled!! WOAH look out- 6 sheep for Ryan! :) haha.
Sorry to all readers who are completely confused by that little bit. I know Bjorn will understand and if you would want to understand pick up the game Settler's of Catan at your local Games by James or AirTraffic. (I can't believe I just gave a free plug for Settler's/Air Traffic/Games by James)

Thanks for the updates Ryan! Keep them coming as often as you can! We're all going to miss you back here but I know this is where God wants you and you are going to be an awesome teacher over there!

I'm so excited for you Ryan! You are going to be blessed during your time there and a blessing the community. Also if they need a Bible teacher for the last trimester let me know. I'm looking for an internship.
